The Exelon Foundation Continues Empowering Future Leaders and Celebrating Women in STEM in 2024
The Exelon Foundation, together with Exelon, remains dedicated to fostering growth and educational development opportunities for young women in STEM fields. Through a competitive scholarship program for current or former attendees of the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy for high school students, the Foundation is proud to recognize seven outstanding students pursuing STEM-related fields at post-secondary institutions who will receive full scholarships that cover their tuition, books, room and board and all fees.
The Exelon Foundation believes that supporting higher education is an investment in our collective future and helps build the energy industry workforce of tomorrow.
In 2024, following the passing of former Exelon CEO, Chris Crane, who was a champion for the STEM Academy, its students and supporting young leaders in STEM, Exelon renamed the scholarship recipients as The Exelon Foundation Chris Crane Memorial Scholars.

“The STEM Academy has stood by my side for two years, starting with its dedicated team of industry professionals determined to support me in my professional development. Then allowing me to represent and share their ideals and values with other students in my community through the ambassador program, to now being selected as a recipient of the Exelon Foundation Chris Crane Memorial Scholarhip. Thank you so much for believing in me. I truly feel blessed and thrilled to be a part of this sisterhood, especially since navigating through college is a scary journey alone. I feel unstoppable in my journey to earning a degree in computer science. Receiving this scholarship will make a significant difference in my life, so I plan to pay it forward later in life.”

“This scholarship will help me become a professional engineer and leave my footprint around the world! As an advocate for all things STEM, I find immense joy in sharing my passion for women in STEM. In November of 2021, I made the decision to move to the U.S from Guatemala without my parents. Since then, the endless opportunities here have fueled my deeper involvement in STEM. I plan on continuing being a STEM advocate and love to see the inclusion of more women in STEM.”
